started my car up normally and let it warm up.
had a quick check over on it and noticed a slight tapping noise at 2500rpm.
dont think its the hydraulic lifters.
i thought maybe the piston hitting the valves ? :S
any idea ?
maybe the timing jumped out of place if thats possible
any one ?

water pump on the way out? my mates sounded like a tapping noise when in fact it was the water pump bearing

Timing will not be out, nor will pistons be hitting the valves. At 2500 rpm all engines, will have a little noise, especially old or high mileage ones. Engines are not designed to run at such high revs without being under load, that is being driven.

im still sticking with a bearing, either from the water pump or one of the tensioners!!
