if the EML is on on the car would this mean the car would fail the MOT?

Not necessarily, but depending on what's causing it, it could knock your emissions out

well it has been on tech2 and it isnt picking any fault codes up so the light cant be turned off,
MOT run out yesterday but been that bust i totally forgot about it

Mine was on when I had mine mot'd and they didn't fail it for it...they found some other stuff to fail it on though

i think mine will fail on the cat as it isnt attached very well
any idea of the price fora new cat for a astra coupe (2002) 2.0 turbo

according to you project thread it failed on emissions, which is more then likely why the eml was on

Removing the bulb won't cure the emissions problem, which will be tested.

well.......... it almost passed
failed on high vision brake light not working (which i knew about) and wiper blades
emissions i am very suprised with
fast idle test limit 0.20 actual value 0.04
natural idle test limit 0.30 actual value 0.13

High level isn't an MOT requirement it is? Or has it got to work as it's fitted?

its a grey area,
but the long and short of it is you have to be able prove without dismantling that it is connected which 99.9% of the time you cant do, therefore you cant fail it

i believe that if it is there it has to work, new one from vaux is £64 thank god iv found a scrappy with one in for £15
