Ojc you will be some sort of saint if you're able to remove the seats before a track day and refit them without having any bolts left afterwards!!

When the astra got properly stripped out on James' driveway with his mum watching, part of me knew that it was never going to be put together properly again, if at all.

if they are anything like the vts seats the steering wheels is as much an aid for holding onto as it is in steering
I think even without stripping the car buckets would make a big difference to the drive of mine. lower and supportive would be 100% better.

exactly, i'm sure people use to put bags of sand in the boot to make car handle better

you dont want a light short wheel base front wheel drive car to be any lighter on the back or you are asking for trouble.

disagree, it may well make it a bit harder to drive if you get it wrong, but removing weight from the extremities will make the car corner quicker, polar moments of inertia and all that, similar to why a mid engined car will handle the best, but a front engined rear drive car will feel the most stable

oh and as for if its worth it for performance in a not very powerful car, it makes more difference on an underpowered car than it does on something with too much, power to weight and all that...

the chances of getting it wrong for a non seasoned track warrior would be increased a lot is what i was referring to. People assume stripping out their car turns it into a track weapon which it doesnt.

oh don't get me wrong nic, you wont get the best result with a light car on stock suspension, i do tend to assume people will have different stings and damper rates to cope, maybe i shouldn't!!

but thing is, whatever you have on there, while the handling may not be perfect, if it weighs less, and has less weight at the extremities, it will stop easier, and have less momentum to overcome to make the car corner, so i think its always worth doing if you're going on a track
