Author chip and transponder engine swap question

Putting an 8v sri engine in my 1.2 8v, the 1.2 has a chip in the key but the sri doesnt, am i right in thinking that if i swap engines and ecu's it will work ok, or will i need to unplug the transponder aswell?

If the new engine/ecu doesnt have a transponder and didnt have one then you dont need it. If its just a case of your forgot to get it then no it wont work.

New engine didnt have a chip in the key so i assume it didnt have a transponder either?
