So with a heavy heart I dropped my R27 off at the dealers -- really loved that car

And drove away this with a big smile on my face....... photos are off my phone so they dont really pick the colour up to well - when the sun comes out it looks stunning - really happy I went for the Blue now .... will try and get some good pictures done at the weekend.

Took my ice out of the old one and put it all into this, need a new amp soon so I might get a false floor put in boot at same time-

plans are pretty subtle mods .....

Wheel spacers needed on the rear
Will be taking the C L I O badge off the rear asap
Front Splitter will be fitted when they get round to making a rensport one for the 200's
Maybe look into a small suspension drop at some point
Gonna try and do something to liven up the interior a little bit.

Other than that its good to go - definately feels like it has more low down torque than the R27 - the handling and the brakes are just as astonishingly good. I do prefer the new back end - its nice that the diffusers are now painted so they wont fade - I prefer these exhausts as well -- better tone and they look nicer than the slash cut on the r27 imo.

Best thing about it is that im used to black cars after having two in a row --- ive forgotten what its l,ike to clean a car and it actually still look perfect a week later ...... I think im done with black cars - look sick when cleaned and polished but an absolute nightmare to maintain - this seems very easy to keep clean with the black wheels as well.

All in all im very very happy with the switch ... cant really recommend these renaultsports high enough.

Very very nice mate, I've got to say though, are you not tempted to get her out on track to stretch it's legs?

Yes - will be done this year .... It needs to be tracked badly just to see how far it can be pushed - you cant really get anywhere close to the limits of the grip on a road

Did you have any issues with the R27?

A guy at work has a blue F1 clio & has had no end of mechanical issues, had to get a new engine fitted & all sorts, then even after that it still broke down on him. I think its just one of those cars though!!

Thats all good - looks much better in the flesh anyhow

More about how it goes than how it shows - I accept the looks are a bit marmite

The Clio 200 is much like the Corsa VXR in that in pictures the front end looks horrible, but in the flesh when you see it all together and your eyes aren't focused on one particular area they look awesome.

Agreed - both cars are very hard to get a decent photo of ... but they look great in the flesh.

Yeah thats what I keep telling him

The engine gave up about 300 miles after he bought it, it was fixed under warranty but that would have been enough for me to get rid of it.
