All depends who does it, where you get the engine etc etc. Guy over here will do a full 2.0 16v conversion for £1300 or something so itll be more expensive than that anyway if you cant do it yourself

youre looking at £1k+ just for the engine and box, factor in mounts hubs shafts and labour and youre probably at about £3k

i spent alot on my let and i mean ALOT but its whatever makes you happy..... which mine does
engine and box £1k
fitting kit £500-£1,000
i reckon you could do one for £3-4k but if your going rebuild it double that! i Spent around £3000 on parts on my engine and that was only bottom end!

Its mine. Someone buy it lol.
As DRS says your minimum for an engine is a 1k then a box is 300 fitting kit 200/300 then its all the parts like boost hoses intercoolers gauges etc and it soon adds up. Think mine owes me over 5k.

you done yours on a good budget.... only a few know how much i spent  i just got carried away! just spent £1700 on alcon 4-pots today

Mines was just a tester as my first conversion. The next one will be a big budget one. I sell my cars too quick and no one will give you an extra ..... just because it has this and that am still getting offerd
£2500 from some numptys. I got everything at good prices f28 was a good price from a mate and the shell cost me next to nothing after i sold the stuff off it i didn't need. Reserve 3k for a build a would say depends on spec though

Drs - what u got in ur bottom end to cost 3k? Just seems high even with rods, pistons, arp rod, main n fly, steel fly, helix, bearings, gaskets n pump (presuming nt on 7.25 plate, dry sump or steel crank) be nice to see what spec you've built whole lump too.
As for a standard rebuild wit new oem pistons if i was doing it, would be near 1500 with all new bearings, gaskets, main bolts, oil n water pumps, rebuilt head etc etc, its nt cheap if want it right, but atleast then its spot on
