How long are people getting out of their batteries on the desire?

Also is anyone else finding that once it reaches 100% it stops charging altogther (so it starts going down)?

+1

Mine is charged all night every night and never turned off (apart from that stupid 3G problem after leaving WiFi ), apparently this is the best way to run the battery rather than deep cycling (all the way down to the red then back up again etc)

edit - also, anyone having problems with uber long shut down times, unmount the SD card then power off, it does it as it should do then, its some issue involving the SD card which I beleve they are fixing in the next firnware

I get about a day, day and a half with reasonable use before it needs charging. 3G is always on and it's used for work, so not bad really.

Im stuggling to get a day out of it! Today for example, took it off charge at 11.30, used it s few (maybe 4-5) times to check my own forum, sent a few texts, used the light a little and it was dead by 9!

You must be leaving things on then! I easily get at least one full day with some internet use and constant music.

I take it off charge about 0700 and if i use internet and music, with occasional call and txt, it will be flat by 1700. Charged overnight everynight.

You don't need app killer. It's clever enough to kill any apps that aren't being used.

I take mine off charge at 6am, and by the time I get home at 7:30pm I have well over 50% left!

You lot must be using is constantly to run it out within the time scale you're suggesting. Mine lasts easily 36 hours but I've never left it more than 48 so couldn't tell you how long I've made it last.

You just need to get in the habbit of switching things off when you're not using them (Wifi, 3G etc) and I also changed my background etc so its less eye candy, more functional

Shouldn't have to switch 3G off, although I know most phones are the same now.

I agree with this. I understand turning off Wifi, BT and GPS when not using, but turning off 3G is just stupid. The point of these modern smartphones is that they constantly update stuff i.e. Emails, Weather, FB and so on.

I learnt today, that the 3G watchdog app updates its self every min, apparently draining the battery quite quickly. Changed mine to every hour, and the battery is still going, whereas it would most likely be dying by now
