Couple questions about scamera vans.
How far away do you need to be before the camera gets the reading of your speed?
Does it have to be on a straight road to pick you up?

Camera doesnt get your speed, the laser does. Camera takes a photo of your face. Laser could therotically work as soon as your are visable (unless your driving faster than the speed of light).
Id imagine the road needs to be fairly stright as so that the laser can reflect from your car, to the reciever.

the camera van has a man inside it, he points the laser at your car, then takes a photo of the front of it, its just the same as any photo, the person looking at it will be able to identify your plate
dodgy plates will only fool ANPR that doesnt have any human input

I'm pretty sure one of those Police Action Camera Chase Video programs said once that they work from up to 1km away.
