It has Highlift Cams, VX Performance Inlet Manifold, Chipped, Bigger Injectors, Full Stainless Exhaust System, Pipercross Airfilter and Breather Pipe. It also has Redtop Front Brakes with new pads.
what average bhp would this be running, lado recons its a redtop killer :S

My 1.8 is about that and it gets owned by redtops, let alone a good one!

My old c16xe gsi used to beat 106gti's and valver corsa's, but then again i build all my own motors so i know what works. A half decent tuned 16xe would give a valver a gud run, maybe up to 80-100mph when xe has more grunt to pul away. But you'd be suprised, dont forget every engine is different, even if exactly same spec.....fact.

didnt lotus have the 16xe running at 155bhp with a good inlet and cams and all that i think it would be about 140bhp doesnt the powerbox add about 20bhp and cams around 10bhp and a good exhaust system inc de-cat and 4branch manifold and its chipped so it would of been re-mapped init so it should be running at around 140bhp maybe more

Lotus got 148bhp, bt restricted it, they made the inlet as long as it is to give the motor sum torque + a pot type fly, thats why when u put a power box on it doesnt pul til 4k or so, the lotus map was rumoured to be kicking round few years back, but no 1 knows exactly what they do to get the power, you can only guess.

i had the following on mine:
c16xe head
mantzel inlet
4-2-1 manifold
k&n pannel filter in air box
dastek managment
full decat ashley race exhaust
magnecor leads
iridium spark plugs.
I could stay with a gti/vts with breather mods,
and i stayed with dog of a xe'd corsa over 200,000 miles on it

Exactly an old tired XE
The money needed to tune 1.6s isnt worth it imo unless you are going crazy with about 6K in your purse...like brosters engine that is a proper one

Il have about 180bhp frm my c16, and if changed to a solid profile cam i could see just over 200bhp wet sumped, by time its built, engine wil owe maybe 2k(on hydraulic cams) thers nowt wrong with a tuned small block, id prefr a tuned 1600 over a stock ish redtop. But iv also got a pretty wel specced tb'd 20xe that shud see close 260-270bhp, owes 7k and not dry sumped or on steel crank and i did all own porting, building and shimming so expect alot more if had to pay. brosters is cheap bt i think it would sell quicker in parts. But from what i had i liked my old c16 betta than a valvered corsa
