When I have my laptop running on battery power rather than off the mains it'll keep dropping the wireless internet connection every few minutes then it comes back again.
When its running on mains power it works fine. Its been like this as long as I can remember.
Any ideas?

Possibly some sort of power-saving scheme that powers down the wireless card after inactivity?

I just looked at the power plan settings for when its on battery and the wireless adapter was set to medium power saving compared to maximum performance when running on the mains. So I've changed it to maximum performance and will see if that makes a difference!
