Are camshafts specific for inlet and outlet? Would there be any marks on them to tell me which is which?

Depends on what cam shafts they are. Give us more details

Yes they will be specific mate,mines ran lumpy with them in but not as you have mentioned,think these need verniers so you can get the most out of them

But they you used them with std ones? it idles at 500 rpm, its like a misfire. dont suppose you can remember which one is which ?

Im sure on the x16xe they can only go in one way because the exhaust pulley has a lobe on it for the camshaft and that pulley will only fit onto the exhaust camshaft. Im pretty sure that was the case when I took mine apart anyway.

Yes mines idled lumpy but wasnt too bad,yes i know mate but to get best gains get verniers

whats been stamped/ground into the end off the cams or onto the cam...whoevers ground them should have marked up somewhere on them what profile they are

yea they are quite spikey,phil not sure what profile they are, going to measure them when i find out how too.
