go for medium.

888's are the cheapest - NOT the best.

Im not an amazing track driver though just want something more suited then my road tyres.

Been impressed with the 888's on the cars that I have been out in

How can you tell what compound they are? We got ours cheap through trade, dont even think they asked what compound we wanted.

RB5s would have to be 185/50s iirc.

There are Indy Sport TRs which are the same type of thing and do come in 195/50s @ £68 a corner

Those are the TR4s which are soft/medium compound, TR5s are medium/hard. Try em out then let us know if they're any good

ive been offered a set of four 888's for £40

only got 1mm on them though. Would this be enough to get a day out of them and get a feel for what they are like?

Well ebay says 205 rims etc around £50

Tyres £40 just need to find someone to fit em cheap or free

Im sure I've heard before that 888's work better when they are more slick?? (obvs in the dry!)
