is there anyone on here who has done this and can point me in the wright direction, whats the cheapest way to do this, what engine management to use,is it worth it, do u see good gains ,can i then get it to run with a chopped airbox without overfueling ,as i'm running a vx powerbox and a 4-1 exhaust manifold so the power doesnt come till late and i need the extra revs cheers lee

unless the engine is biult to take higher revs i wouldn't have thought the gains yoy may get from an extra 300 or so rpm would be worth it, but with a built engine u could take it to 8.5k or more

If you've got £2k to wank away over a pointless re-build surely you're better off buying a different car?
If you removed the limiter from a standard 1.4/1.6 16v it would shit its pants out the bottom of the sump after about 7.5k..

completely agree
go spunk 2k on some jap car with big BHP and then afford the insurance..
also, if you done all this work, and then declared it, would you still be able to afford the insurance?

Question is whether its wise to do that with it. It'll still only be 150 brake unless you do even more to it, at which point the engine stands you far more than the car and it'll still be slower than a LET.
I know LETs aren't the answer to everything. I have 1.6s in both my Corsas. But I also wouldn't go too bonkers tuning one if I wanted that kind of power.
