Bought some bushes last week from demontweeks on ebay, payed for item straitht away on the 18th.

Got a phone call from the guy at demon tweeks saying they couldnt find the bits out the back and would have to order them in, i could either wait for 2 weeks or get them elsewhere and they would refund me.

So i found some elsewhere and got the paypal pyment refunded on the 19th.

So the refund appears in paypal but as "temporary hold". I look at the details and it says the funds will be available when paypal receives the original payment cleared from my bank account.

So i check my bank account on Friday and the paypal payment has cleared, but the thing is still on hold in paypal, so i decide to wait the weekend.

Check this morning on paypal still on hold, so i ring them up and they tell me i can expect the funds between 25-27th of this month. WTF? why in this day and age does it take these things so long to process, especially as iv already checked and the funds have left my bank account, im sure there is some scam going where they sit on the interest or something.

rant over

Tbh it's not that bad. It takes up to around 7 working days dependent on banks.

7 working days would be the 27th.

So really it's more of a bank issue than a paypal

Its the same when they take 3 days to transfer funds from your paypal back to your bank account.

Imagine the hundreds of thousands of pounds they must have pending withdrawal - every day earns them a fortune whilst all the users miss out.

i can understand that, but the money has left my bank account, so it surely can no longer be a bank problem

It's in a blue van with security guards on it's way to paypal same with any bank transaction it's how it is. Although the faster payment service is becoming more popular

use google checkout?

As said they hold onto the cash to make interest, which is no different Banks and transfering money around. Technically a transfer would take a few seconds rather than days but it's all to do with making money.
