Also, whenever you see a car with matte or satin finish on it in real life, it looks awful because it wears very badly and ends up looking patchy. Matte paint seems to get etched badly by bird crap and satin gets greasy.

you could do it yourself with halfords cans and it would look the same as paying someone £100-£200 to do it

If you want "practical" paint then as Ed said, steer clear of satin or matt finish as it can't be rectified should you get bird crap, water etchings etc on it. Either get a wrap (CF?) or gloss black imo.
