Recieved a letter from them saying I owe 02 £176. This is dating back to 2004
I've never had a contract with 02 in my life. Con?
Quick look on the net and they seem legal!

Do they provide your alleged number?
Call O2 to confirm.

They are a legit debt collection company.
Even if you did owe O2 money, if you haven't made contact with the company within 6 years they can't legally chase you for the money any more, so either way they can GTF.

They certainly are, My missus works for them. Is the letter from Manchester?
I didn't say this but for that kind of money they won't pursue it, It will just get past back to O2.

Don't call up or acknowledge the debt, just ignore it.

No, it's from London. I've asked for proof. I'll await to see what they say.

I've just spoke to the wife, She said they don't deal with O2 anymore but do have some outstanding debts they bought from they.
She said ask them for proof of liability or a copy of a contract you signed.
She said if you dispute it they won't enforce the debt, Although it is worrying because it will be on your file and possibily on your credit score.
