Need a part time job and have alot of free time on my hands so joined the TA

The selection is on this sat where you have to do some phyical tests, one of them is run 1.5 miles in 14 mins or under

Im going to stuggle with it badly, iv just timed myself there and did 1.2 miles in 10:35 but was weezing like fook and couldnt seem to draw a deep breath

Is there anything that can give me the little bit extra because everyone is saying just dont be last in your group, anything from extra energy or some sort of lung exercises lmafao

Should have became a fooking plumber

Okay, details aside ...

If you've not been training for it and you're struggling my advice would be to move your date forward 3 months and put the miles in.

These tests are meant to hurt btw. They say 14mins but they'll probably mean 11/12 in reality. They want to see you doing more than you think you're capable of.

Imagine there's a fit naked blonde at the end, wanting you.

You'll run like the wind.

If you want it badly enough you'll do whatever it takes on the day.

Just don't set off too quick, pace yourself towards the back of the group and give it you all the last half a mile.

Not everyone is going to be Usain Bolt and you're not going to get someone who does it in 20 minutes entering either. If you're starting to feel it then ease up, if it's too comfortable then up your pace.

If you can run 1.2 miles in 10:35 then you're on target to run it in about 12:25 if you can keep your pace up.

Failed it by 24 seconds lol, some guy there did it in 7 mins, he was sprinting off the line and laped me

Even the this fat old army drill guy beat me and he must have been 15 stone and easly 60 or more wtf????

They said i can come back in 2 weeks but said no and booked it in 2 months so i can actully get a decent time, under 13 will suit me with with 2 months running should be ok i think.

I used to be able to run a 5 minute mile back in the day.

True story.
