I've got the bug now and I want a 996 so the 986 is up for sale.. The problem I want TOP money for it with all the bits on:

Areokit (Bumper, skirts, bootlid, spoiler, exahust).
GT3 Split rims.
Clear head-lights + White/Red tail lights.
Sports seats.

etc.

But the way I see it the head lights, seats, wheels, bumper and skirts could be salvaged for the 996 (assuming I find one with the same colour leather) and I could sell the 986 as a basic model easilly for £5.5k+.. The parts alone would cost me £3k+ to replace so surely it makes sense? I could use the wheels, seats and bumper from the 996, buy a secondhand bootlid and set of rear lights for a few quid and sell the areo boot lid for a pretty penny!

Think its a plan or am I just being a tight c**t?

I say put the Boxster back to standard and sell it that way.

I reckon most people looking to buy would prefer a standard one.

It is Factory apart from the wheel colour.. Just loads of optional extras..

But yeah I think there is a bigger market for it in 'basic mode'.

Yeah, the Areokit II is just the GT3 skirts + front bumper plus a taller spoiler.

I quite like it plus if I fitted the skirts + bumper to a 996 along with a GT3 spoiler, clear head lights, red/white rears and respray in solid white it wouldn't look like I'm trying to make it a GT3

Just outta interest, do you call it the 986 to avoid calling it a Boxster?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone calling thier Boxster a 986.

All Porsches (with a couple of exceptions) have a three digit desgination which is their 'proper name'..

To just say Boxster is Vague, its like saying "Corsa" you dont know which one..

Much like I've said 996 to be clear I mean the 1998-2004 shape 911.. Basically the one that is the same shape as my Boxster.
