If Liverpool finish higher than should be they'll be sitting in the top 4 every season and possibly even challenging for the title.

Villa should of been finishing 6th with the money they were spending though!

From what base though? a club in turmoil under O'Dreary.

There's no way even with the money spent Villa should have been 6th 3 seasons in a row, considering the top 4 then Spurs and Everton are in the same league. (not including Man City from last season)

I still stand by the fact if O'Neill were to get the Liverpool job in January with a few quid to spend you would shoot up the league.

Do you reckon they could reach the dizzy heights of 14th, Paul?

Everton certainly didnt spend more than Villa during those seasons but finished above them. I couldnt be certain about Spurs (as they have spent a fair bit of money) but its probably a close call.

Everton are punching well above their weight as well due to their excellent manager and his ability to spot talent.

Spurs have been in and amongst the big spenders for years and years.

I wouldnt go that far about Spurs, theyve spent big in recent seasons but I wouldnt say theyve been big spends for years.

If O'Neil is as good as you say he is then surely he should be finishing above Everton with the extra cash he has had?

Sunderland have spent more net than United from 04 to 09, why haven't they won the title?

You need to take into account the squad at their disposal to begin with amongst a million other variables.

So you're telling me Everton had this amazing squad when O'Neill came in compared to Villa? Really?

No they had a comparable squad but Moyes had 4 or 5 years of a head start
