I did it at Crail, went from 1st - 2nd - 1st. Engine revved out its tits but I managed to catch it with the clutch. It never did much to it, I was almost on the limiter as well.
A guy I know's mate was out drinking in town one night and asked his girlfriend to come and pick him up in his mint xr2i that he had been restoring for X amount of time - she was coming up the motorway in it and managed to shift it from 5th into reverse - the car shat the gearbox out the bottom and it fucked all the undercarraige = write off.
