My mate works for Ford and after shopping around the cheapest pump he found was £750 then he had to book a day off to do it so just charged the £100 labour that he was losing from having to use a holiday. The garage we usually use said it'd be a grand and 3 days work

I imagine it is, I did my apprenticship in the "good" years, the 2 fellas I worked with were on £1000 take home a week and we were home every day for half 2 - 3 o clock
as soon as I came out of my time in 2007 everything went tits up and I was in and out of employment, the past 18 months in this area have been chronic, no homes being built at all and no councils really doing any work, its all private and there are far too many plumbers in this town
might have to go round burning the competition

Yeah a guy who i sometimes work with useto be booked up for a good 6-8 months at a time. now its a month if hes lucky.
most of his work useto come from the bathstore. but they screwed the fitters over using there own scheme which paid the fitters peanuts!
i sent out 40 cvs a few month ago and nothing came of it.....but if you ever need an apprentice im not far from you

I went back to do a joinery course last year, but they put me on the furniture one so i sacked it off.
managed to find a way to do my level 3 this year without employment. got a college place. then lost it as the government cut funding for adult courses! BASTARDS. everything just stacks against me!
