Hi,

noticed a topic re. limited company registration the other day and seems there's some people with experience of this on here. Couple of questions if you guys could spare the time.

Where have/do you register your names online. Looking for somewhere reputable and good price (not just the cheapest, although if the cheapest is good then that's great).

Can I register a name now and not start using it straight away and how does that work? i.e. how do I say I don't want to start using it right away (stuff with HRMC etc). Or does it work the other way? Like I have to say when I want to start using it?

That's pretty much it tbh. I'm currently a sole trader and have been for years and years, but would like to go limited in the near future and have a name in mind I'd like to register now.

Cheers!

Go to the Companies House website there is loads of info there about what you need to do. Basically fill a few forms in and pay the fee.

We (firm of accountants) use http://www.companyservices.waterlow.com/

£50 for PDF incorporation docs, £120(?) ish for full bound paper stuff

If you incorporate a company, you'll need to file annual return forms (£30) and dormant accounts (accountants costs) every year.

Not to hot on legally who you tell and when as its not really my area. If its not trading HMRC aren't interested.

Just register the company. Then when your annual return comes thru just put that your not trading.

For future reference there are companies on eBay that can sort it all out for less than £30

Won't have to file any Annual Accounts as your company will probably be within the small company exemption with regards to turnover.

Annual Returns are only £15.

Once you have registered your company, HMRC will send all the relevant docs to the company's registered office
