After having the head gasket/cambelt fixed i was over joyed to see the oil light come on and the car cut out tonight!
Gets on the blower to the AA who we are coverd with via our bank account and advise they will be 45 mins.
When the recovery man arrives i advised to leave the tools and tow me home its fucked.
Ohhh your cover only takes you 10 miles?
Luckly he was sound and took me home (25miles), Lloyds told me i am coverd for everything home start, europe, any time any place any distance...
So check your cover people!

Ive got the basic AA cover, £9 a year. It covers the car rather than a person as long as it is over 1 or 2 miles from its registered address. Cant remember but it either takes me to the nearest garage or back home, should check really

I usually just have my towpole in the boot and phone a friend.
If it cant be fixed at the roadside it's fucked.

Not always - my housemate at uni set up a Direct Debit for his AA cover, but when renewal came round, they didn't take any money, but still sent him through his new documents and updated membership card.
Being a very honest bloke, he rang them and explained they hadn't taken any money and that they could either use the direct debit, or he would pay over the phone there and then. Both times he rang, they were insistant that he had paid, and was therefore covered
£77 saved on a years AA cover
