Right due an upgrade and looking at new phones
have 2 options
1. get an upgrade for 18 months now
2. wait till feburary and change provider to tesco and get a better deal through my other half probably with an i phone
phone i have just now is pretty fucked tbh
Is there any good smart phones that can be bought for £100 ish and could get a sim only contract?

its a phone that will only last 1 year tops I have far more important priorities than spending £400 on a phone to look cool
doesnt have to be brand new either

Oh Christ aye I thought you were buying Desire then. But the HD is out soon so I'd wait for that!

Nokia E63. Only £99 from 3 PAYG and it comes with a "qwerty" keyboard too.
Think it has GPS as well can't remember.

well if you want payt
htc wildfire is your best bet

can get the htc hero for around £100, really good phone for the price
or if you want a contract the htc desire HD is out this week or next

I have one of these for my business. Kept umm'ing and arr'ing over this phone and a Blackberry something-or-other, I decided after trying out both phones I liked this one better.
It's also pretty thin and lightweight too, and unlike Nokias of old it doesn't reboot itself on a daily basis!
I like using it when I'm out on site because I can use the WiFi to check my email on it and the screen is pretty big for what it is too!

Although the E71 was one of the best phones of it's time, the E63 is a cheap version of that and isn't a smartphone by todays standards whether nokia want to call it one or not.

Thread title is best smart phone that's not an iphone
Which the E63 certainly isn't, he also then goes on to talk about 18 month contracts etc

For £100 i'd look at the ZTE Blade aka Orange San Francisco - get it unlocked for $3, flash the Modaco ROM to it and you've got a decent Android phone that is a far amount better than the HTC Wildfire.
