after my recent computer troubles ive bought a new hard disk drive but................ when i switch the computer on it says i need a boot disk? ive been told i can get 1 from windows? im in college now so how do get 1?

go into your bios and set it to boot of your cdrom drive with your windows cd in

Yeah boot from CD! I would also have a look on your motherboard at the manufacturer. Mine had same problem and what it was, was a virus had got into the actual bios. The only way to get rid of that is to flash the bios with a new program. What you can do is download an up to date bios program from the manufacturer and this will write over the top and hopefull kill the virus. As said I had same prob, didnt know had virus, Norton cant find it as its not in a file and it buggered up another new HD like you've got. Possibly worth doin!

If you do flash bios make sure you get the right one! cause you cant do it again if you put the wrong one on.
