Right i have just put a vx performance inlet manifold on my x16xe but still want a bit more kick i have just found this on ebay >>>> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-Corsa-B-Tigra-C16XE-X16XE-ASTRA-CHIPTUNING-/120632251898?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c163e15fa#ht_500wt_1156

Right basicly what i want to know is when fitting one of these would i have to uprate the rod bolts cause it says that it bumps up the rev limit to 7000rpm and i was told by a friend of mine that if the rev limit has been raised you have to put ARP rod bolts on.

Would i get away with not using arp rod bolts or should i just not bother with it ???

Has anyone else purchased and fitted one on here if so did it make much difference and did you uprate the rod bolts ???

If anyone could help me out with this one your help would be very much appreciated

Many thanks

Joe

You should be ok if it only goes up to 7. Let me know if they are any good, I wouldn't mind one.

no need for two posts mate, help zone is enough. As said, I'd be thinking it's a resistor mod chip 122bhp and 162Nm is a bit optomistic.

these chips are a waste of time don't get one. pay the extra money and get it done right. there is a reason these are only £40.

It doesn't look like a resistor mod chip

I'm not sure whether these are any good or not but I can't see why they aren't.

The chip will cost in the region of pence so if someone has got hold of a map from somewhere it's not unrealistic.

That's fair enough, it may be rubbish, I wouldn't dismiss it straight off the bat though.

maybe if there was a bit more information about the company thats producing them and just a bit more general information about the chip itself it might not seem as rubbish. but it may actualy be a good product in which case it is a bargain if its bold 122bhp claim is true.

I would dismiss it when you realise they're claiming a 16bhp power gain and about 12Nm torque gain.

That catalytic octane booster I posted up would probably be more use than this.

Well my standard Sport with over 100k and no service history had 108hp so they tend to be over book figure.
