3.2 isn't that great. 2.0T would be a better bet.
I would maybe go for the Focus ST if you can't stretch to an S3... the noise is

TBH if i was to choose one of them it would either be the golf or the audi, fords i have never been a fan of, when i was looking at ST's they didnt seem that much difference between them and a normal focus bar the engine, VXR's iv never really been a fan of either
well it's going to be similar as it's the same bloody car with different bumpers, wheels, suspension, exhaust, interior etc
the audi and golf look just like normal versions also so i don't understand what you're trying to say really?
i know they are, tbh i just think i have oring taste in cars, if i had that kind of money to spend id rather buy a big comfy cruiser like a bmw 750 rather than a hot hatch

I was under the impression that the A3 3.2 shared the same engine as the R32

Just driven my mates r26 ( i have some car without the diff), and its absolutley amazing. I thought mine was good, but chuck it into a corner at stupid speeds, like mine, but then has the ability to still take some more power! Incrediable. So sharp and compossed at stupid speeds on rough country roads!
Havent gave a car so much abuse like that in ages, gives you so much confidence! Will out handle any of the above, and probably the most all around for space, MPG, purchase price etc
But like you say, the build quality isnt amazing compaired to some of the above.
My friends 08 R26 seems better built then my 06 225 f1!
I would go and drive one before the 'french' comments come in. I never wanted one, had a go for a laugh, after 5 minutes i wanted it.

I would say audi, you just can't beat german build quality and I'm not a fan of golfs.

Tbh, the only reason the German cars were in the choice was because of their build quality, and the ST is because of the looks and colour. Thinking about it id prefer the VXR on a lot more things over the others, and i know my way around the Z20LET/LEH.
