just wanted to vent some rage.. let everyone know my utter hatred of software testing.
its so repetitive.
this field should only accept 14 characters, make sure you cant add in over that
this field can only take 2 letters, which should default to upper case.
only valid country codes can be used in this field. Try using ZZ
this field will allow a maximum of 6 alpha numeric characters
and so on and so on
have been doing this for the past 2 months and i dont want to do anymore. sadly i will testing the company's new software for at least another year
(company makes HMRC Freight Clearance software)

Erm... Have you not heard of TDD (Test Driven Development) or Automated Unit Tests?
All of those tests could be written as automatic unit tests.
Then once you have a full test suite, you no longer have to manually regression test any of it, you just hit 'run tests'.

dont think that would work on our software, we are a little more "oldschool" than that.

Well you got 2 options for automated testing...
Either unit tests in the code, which test the internal functionality (needs to be object orientated).
Or tools which test the external input screens, automatically putting data in and seeing what the effect is.
