Hi all.
Whats the website which sold crazy powerful laser pointers.
I remember a thread on them last year, but the "search" wont find it.
Also, what power was it that would burn paper?
cheers

Wicked lasers, overpriced rubbish.
Burning paper depends on a lot of things, wavelength being a major one.

I've got a green one from DX, done the job, most people are normally impressed, it may or may not have been shone in eminems eyes.
I've got a DIY 445nm 1W nearly built here, just waiting for the torch to house it in.
That burns
Dangerous to use indoors.

You paid an absolute fortune did you not? And it's probably under spec.

was sumit like 50quid, however they were not available anywhere else at the time and cost did not bother me, i cant say whether its under spec as i have nothing to compare it too, however the people that have seen it at PVS and stuff have said its the most powerful one they have seen.

Why would you want a laser pen? Its a red/green dot, hardly exiting

50 quid isn't bad, though it was hundreds from what I could remember of the thread.
The eye is most sensitive to green so they normally look really powerful when comparing to a red one.
Powerful greens are £££

Or various other colours.
You can burn with them and just the fact they shine for miles, there's the geeky side of it, I fancied giving a go at building one, then there's the side of it when you buy cheap one's to shine in people's eyes.

So can other colours, it all depends on the power and how it's focused, and what you are trying to burn.

Hopefully no one on here is childish/chavvy enough to shine them in peoples eyes whilst driving / flying planes
