I need a wheel alignment so may aswell drop the ctr. In the past ive always been a coilover man and have tried spax, hottuning, supersport.... All budget i know and all have 1 probkem. They all clunk on slow turning. Now i really just want the car dropped. So find some 40-50mm springs (has bilstein front shocks already) or get some hottuning/ jamex coilies?

Never had any clunking with budget coillies.
Mk4 used to clunk on turning but that could have been a never ending list and was before susp change.
Edit: I'm using shocks and springs for the first time on the VR and it has lowered it nicely whilst retaining some comfort, although would be nicer if the front was a tad lower

They look well built and good quality, but you need rear camber arms aswell and then your fast road set up which ABP quoted me £255 for
The other popular option is abp eibach springs and camber bolts and rear camber arms but it's still 500+

Camber bolts are an absolute must mate when lowering the car. I bought the eibach bolts and had the set up done by pro grip up my way. Totally transformed the car.
It was deffo lower than 20mm mate.

there are two sets of ebaiches ones 20mm ones around 40mm
camber arms on the back are recomended otherwise you will wear the inner edges of the tyres. As the suspension system gains negative camber as it goes down on its travel. The ones you buy have a thread on them so that they can be lenghtened and shortened to regain oem geo at the new height or be altered to how you want it to be.
Go front and rear and get it set up by someone on the know and you deffo notice the difference though
How mine sat on them

Another 40mm would ruin the handling which defeats the purpose of these cars IMO

Trust me mate I couldn't even get 2 fingers between the tyre and the arch lol. Another 40 would need the arches cut to feck

Most cars look good when slammed but not the EP3 imo.
I've seen a few very low ones and it looks wrong.
