Need to come up with a constraint problem for uni, so that I can model it and then eventually put into code etc.
An example (which I can't use btw) story would be:
Arranging the seating plan for a wedding reception - with rules such as 'grandad must sit next to grandma', 'auntie pat cannot sit on the same table as uncle ken' etc...
Anyone come up with a story that is similar and can be modelled by constraints and variables etc?
Cheers

you're stuck on a riverbank with a dog, a cat and a mouse. you have one boat and the boat can only carry you plus on animal. the dog or mouse cannot be left with cat. how do you get you and the 3 animals over the river?

Rub your hands together until there are sore, use the saw to cut the table in half, two halves make a whole, use the hole to escape the prison

mouse/dog/cat ----------------------- (nobody)
mouse/dog --------> you/cat --------> (nobody)
mouse/dog <-------- you <------------ cat
mouse ------------> you/dog----------> cat
mouse <------------ you/cat <--------- dog
cat --------------> you/mouse -------> dog
cat <-------------- you <------------- mouse/dog
(nobody) ---------> you/cat ---------> mouse/dog
(nobody) ----------------------------> mouse/dog/cat

uhhh
seating plan for airline
rules such as
first class can only sit in row A - B
second class in C - D
passengers with special considerations e.g
wheel chair passengers in end of row C
passengers who booked extra leg room in aisle seats X
you get the idea, plently of options for constraints and variables
