IMO it would be a good idea since the no selling in classifieds rule has came in
(yes there is the distance search but it only works if the sellers have taken the time to enter there postcode)

No, that'll totally detract from the point of there being a Classifieds section.
If a seller has items they want to make money on, it's not exactly difficult to add in their postcode to help them target their audience is it?

The distance thing just needs working on imo,
Or Maybe have it so when you look in the regional section the last 10 things locally are listed below the topics? Kinda like related topics but classified items

would probably be better if it was made that you had to enter your post code when selling an item. that way the distance search would always work

Thing about that is some people want to sell stuff thats pick up only and only advertise in the regional section, now thats out the window
Plus searching through loads of ads to find local ones is shit

Yes. For the pure fact that there are definetely people who (used to) go through the regional sections only looking for stuff for sale.
I can't be arsed clicking on umpteen adverts to find that they're all South of London. Personally I don't think there's a lot wrong with just allowing it in the regional areas as before - or at least letting the people who are allowed to sell stuff in classifieds anyway stick up a duplicate ad in their regional bit.

This is a good idea, as long as people were forced to enter a postcode I could see it working. It's just about having a system where you can see stuff that's local to you.

Regional forums were getting over run with classified adverts, not much point in having a regional forum if it's practically classifieds, I did suggest that we have one thread for selling items, if you have an issues just speak to Ian about it as at the end of the day no amount of polls will make it happen.

The distance function works for those people who use it.
I'll give some thought to enforcing postcode entry before you can sell.
