That'll be permanent I'd imagine, you shouldn't need the keys turned in the ignition for the boot light to come on!

I can't think of one off the top of my head though - only ignition lives with a switch in the circuit somewhere (wiper, brake lights etc.)

Im assuming this is for an audio install? If so then just run a signal wire from the back of your headunit to the boot
