I just cut the plug from the loom out of a 1.2 16v and crimped it onto the loom (took ages) and just extended the rev counter wire. It works even if it bodgetastic

Cable driven cars have exactly that a direct mechanical link with a cable going direct from the gearbox to the back of the clocks. The mechanical movement is transmitted from the gearbox to the clocks via the rotation of the insides of the cable.

Electronic clocks need a transducer mounted on to where the cable would go into the gearbox. The transducer converts the mechanical rotation into an electric signal and is transmitted to the clocks via wires.

If you have mechanical clocks you can screw the speedo cable into the f20 gearbox and your done.

If you have electric clocks you need the transducer and the plug for the loom mentioned that converts the rotation to an electric signal.

Some Corsa's originally fitted with electronic clocks have the mechanical to electronic transducer you need usually late model 1.4 and diesels.
Some corsa's with electronic clocks sxi and sports have a different type of pickup using magnets in the gearbox which wont work on an f20 gearbox.

What exactly are you trying to do?

If your trying to fit electronic clocks to a 1.2 8v that originally has cable driven clocks then its not an easy task.

Yes it is possible by fitting the said transducer but you will also have to do the wiring to the clocks as your cars loom does not have this already fitted.

Far far easier to just fit mechanical clocks to a mechanical car.
