Get yourself some Tar.ox sport japan discs about 150 notes. They are well made,can take a hammering and look shit hot.For pads,i use Red.dot fast road,EBC greenstuff are ok aswell.

Bin the standard GSi calipers and get some Astra 16v ones. A lot more power, £150 new for calipers/disks/pads

Ive got red dot 20 groove discs and red dot fast road pads on 1.6 sport only cost me £130 from www.hyperformancedirect.co.uk and can highly recomened them.

Dont bother will so called performance disks, get either standard vauxhall stuff and save the money or spend the money or some astra gte 16v ate style calipers and disks.

16valve astra brakes are the same size as 1.6 corsa discs and calipers!!
and groved or drilled disks look much better behind your alloys

yup they are different -the Astra Ate callipers are much better.
I got 256mm Willwood discs AND Maxtorq Kevlar pads for around £60. Some rip off "performance" discs are that each

so how do wider discs make u stop better then answer they dont!
to improve stoping power you have to increase the leverage against the wheel this is done my moving the caliper thought out eg bigger disks just like fitting v6 brakes. fitting wider discs will only help cooling . but if you fit high performance discs heat dosent matter!

Yes the calipers have a bigger piston so will give better stopping power. Paulr202000 - seems like you know bugger all really.
A chap who has a Corsa GSi said braking was much improved after fitting the Astra setup so

if they are off a astra GTE they will be the same design as what i had on my nova which in the 2 years i had them on my car they seized on four times causenig me to go through three sets of disks and four sets of pad. due to the sealed design of the sliders causing moisture to stop in side them and rust making them stick. making them unreliable and the reason vauxhall changed there design to the new style at about k reg that are lighter so reducing the unsprung weight and improving handaling which in my (and vauxhalls) opinion are much better. If you want good brakes git Vectra V6 brakes but you wont get them for £150

V6 setup is £200 but due to the master cylinder size of the Corsa you wont get very good pedal feel.

they must be off a GSI or sport so they are the new design and if they have a bigger piston they will be better but check the clearance on your wheels as mine were very close when new

They are off a 16v GTE m8...the older style calipers use springs which are poop.

Paul you know fuck all mate. Brakes work by friction from the pads and discs being forced together by hydraulics. This in turn creates HEAT which helps transform the physical movement energy into heat energy. the heat is also a bad thing as it reduces the stopping power of the discs as they get too hot and glaze over from excess gases. The wider discs help dissipate the excess heat and gases as they are ventilated and help gases to pass away. Thats why Astra GTE brakes are better than Corsa GSi brakes under heavy stress. Also the fact that they are more likened to the Corsa master cylinder. The v6 setup is too large for the cylinder to operate properly and will result in a shitty pedal feel.
