what about the nokia 5800? those are cheap for what they are / have / do.

Altough the wildfire screen isn't the best, it's a miles better phone than a 5800.

what makes a good phone is a good screen so you can actually see what youre doing. the wildfires screen is about as clear as mud.

That and the interface, which although you can see it on the 5800, is terrible.

TBH it doesnt look much worse than my Desire 
I think I'll get it tbh
it seems a good phone for the money, and the camera still apears 10x better than her 2.0mp thing
she'll be happy with it

The interface is terrible compared to anything else on the market now Jambo, including the newer nokia's, the touchscreen is also one of the worst you can get, it's big and awkward, there's not one good feature about it.
I wouldn't say it was a different kind either, both are lower end smartphones.

They label it as a smartphone but we both know it isn't the interface is a phone interface not a smartphone interface so for dialing numbers using contacts and typing txts etc it's very good.
As a smartphone however not so much.
