The tabs click onto the plastic bit you will have removed to get the old filter out.

Tabs to the top. Its obvious if you look at the screw top you took off. The filter grabs onto it. You should have 2 seals on the housing to replace aswell.

Bleed off pipes were changed not so long ago. kep the fuel filter seal DRY, any diesel on it will make it swell and cause bad starting as air will get sucked in.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
