thinking of one as a replacement for the corsa instead of the old scooby or evo. anyone had any experience with them. plan on building one for silly power anyway so on the look out for a cheap shagged one. are they proper 4wd or is it something gay

Don't they come with a few extra's as standard? Intercoolers sprayers & anti lag pipework iirc?

When i looked into them a few years ago they were unbeleivably expensive to run, especially parts if it went wrong.

4wd system on them seems to be very good, hense the feel of a wrx, grate through corners, most jap cars are expensive to fix but as a rule if looked after they dont go wrong often

Always loved the GT4.
Are you talking about the newest shape and not the pop up lights version??
IIRC they have the same engine as the MR2 Turbo.
The figure 8s are the expensive parts to replace if they go.

im just in the middle of rebuilding a mates gt4 engine, steel rods, wossner pistons, arp main studs, ported/polished head, piper 264 cams, springs and caps, hes hoping for some decent power, but even before with 300bhp it was quick on the a/b roads around us in north wales

Great cars and different like you say. My mate had a white one in Castrol colours and it was a weapon!
Bit heavier than the other Jap 4WD's of that era but 1400kgs is nothing in todays cars.

Friend has a Carlos Sainz edition.
Personally I don't think they are that pretty, but cabable of serious tuning.
Oh and its a "proper" 4wd system.
Go onto the Celica owners club and have a look - they are very knowledgeable.
