dunno about iTunes, but winamp has winamp agent which lets you stream music easily. Can use winamp as an iTunes replacement in fact (with the exception of the store obviously)

Vuze is an ace all rounder imo. Torrent downloader, can connect to itunes, and has ability to play to ps3 via wlan

Bloody stupid they cant just make these things work, you have to be some sort of frigging computer hacker to do anything these days.

Have you got ps3mediaserver ? (you said you dled a server thing)
If all your iTunes stuff is in one folder, share that folder (right click and sharing) then you should be able to find it on the music section on your ps3

Yeah and I'm playing music to it now but I've had to drag and drop the music from my iTunes in to Vuze. Hoping that's not how you do it as I don't want to have to drag and drop my whole iTunes library in to Vuze

Would that not put all my music on to the PS3 then? I was kind of hoping to be able to access my playlists that are on my iTunes so if I was to edit or add new playlists thats what streams. Can I get the playlists to work?
And if I am dragging and dropping in to Vuze am I copying the tracks and taking up more space on my hard drive or is it just enabling them to be streamed to my PS3?

Not sure you can do playlists from ps3
think you'd have to move them to ps3 and playlist them on there which isn't too helpful really
I think by dragging them into vuze you are just letting vuze access it, pretty sure you wont be copying all the files.
I have used Vuze myself to stream stuff as it transcodes all hd files which takes ages, whereas Ps3mediaserver does it all without any delay on it, hence using that instead.

Yea, you are not sending the files to the ps3, just letting vuze access them via the ps3.
Im not sure if u can add them as playlists tbh, but google it and u will find info on it if its possible
