I read in a conversion guide, you need 1.4 or bigger.

I know a couple of guys that ran aircon rads with XEs, said they were that good their fans almost never kicked in. Why wouldn't you fit one?

Just due to the larger size, Theres no issue with fitting one, but if I had a choice, I wouldn't go for a aircon one.

Just get a 1.6 sport with aircon one (most sports have aircon) and a 1L 12v top hose, don't get a 1L 12v or 1.2 16v rad as they are smaller than the 1.6L.

the 1.6 aircon rad is a bit of a squeeze. I had it in my old one.
I'd get a 1.6 non-aircon.

I'm running an aircon rad on mine and had to pretty much make up a top hose for it.
Will be changing it for a smaller and slimline fan in the new year.
