Getting a slim on saturday, got an old 20gb premium. I'm looking at cables on eBay and most say not compatible with 250gb consoles, anyone link me up to something that will work?

mine worked from my 20gb to my Elite then from the elite to my 250gb.
Probably means they wont transfer from a 250gb as the hard drive doesnt come off like the earlier ones.

you can use a usb drive or whatever but the xbox limits it to something stupidly small so you just about do game saves in one hit.

If you only need to move a small amount of content (such as a gamertag or a saved game), you can use a USB storage device to move the content to your new console. You can find information about using a USB storage device at www.xbox.com/storage.
Note: The Xbox 360 console can copy a maximum of 16 gigabytes (GB) to a USB storage device. If you need to transfer more than 16 GB of content, you should use the Hard Drive Transfer Kit.
Re-install the games, they won't be playable anyway and will need re-installing.
