Hi
I'm fairly new to Corsa's, but have bought two of them in the last month!
Cut a long story short my girlfriend blew a head gasket on her 1.4 sport, and I decided to take the opportunity of upgrading it to a 1.6 16v. So... bought a 1.6 sport that was Cat C for £290 (quite a light front corner shunt) and have spent the last week stripping it.
Being as the 'engine out' - 'engine in' has taken more that a week, I had to buy a cheap runaround for her, so I picked up a 1.2 bottom of the range for £215 with 5 months mot and only one fault - no handbrake.
Easy - thought - I'll take the handbrake cables off the 1.6 sport and fit them to the 1.2
So... took them off the sport today, and fitted them to the 1.2, but they seem to be too short. The adjuster is at it's longest position, but I still can't get the plate to connect under the handbrake. It seems to be about 2 inches too short.
Question - is the handbrake different on the sport and the 1.2? or is this a case that I've done something wrong? Any ideas/suggestions would be gratefully received!
Thanks in advance.

could you not just leave it in gear whenever you stop if its only for a short period of time then presumably you'll be getting rid, will keep you mobile and then can just get rid

Exactly what we are doing, but I'd like to get it sorted.
Gonna spend some time on it tomorrow to see what I've done wrong. Think I haven't threaded the cable properly. Only thing I can think of.

I think they're all the same, not sure.
