What if it's going to sit on his drive for the next two months until the weather gets better? There's loads of reasons as to why he'd get it detailed like that, looks great anyway.

What? Just because he's bought it just now he needs to go out off roading in it?

I could trek through muddy fields in my Corsa. It's not really off roading in the sense that you need a 4x4 though is it.

Steve if you don't stop being mean to me I'm going to cry like a model building gimp and report you to admin.

It says the guy bought it to trek through muddy fields, doesn't sound like a challenge for it. But ultimately I don't care, I'm not getting into an argument about why some rich guy wanted to spend hundreds of pounds cleaning his car. It's because it's his and it's because he wanted to, don't see why so many people bother getting stressed about it.

Alan - I'm sure compared to most his other cars which will all be prestige sports cars I expect (pretty sure he has Porsches etc) then a Landrover is a slightly better suited vehicle.

Makes me laugh how many people on here seem to think a Landrover should only be used for extreme off roading and nothing else!

That's like saying a GT3 RS should only be used on track and never seen on the road.

I think people have picked me up wrong. I'm not suggesting that he should use a front wheel drive hatchback for off roading. Just that the type of off roading that was briefly mentioned seemed like it could possibly be done in a FWD hatch. As in very light off roading, if he's got all this cash to throw about though he's obviously going to get something a bit better than he literally needs.

I think theres more point in getting something like that detailed than a prestige car. If thats used properly it will get filthy so surely it being protected and easier to clean makes sense in the long run especially if it holds off any rust a bit longer etc etc..

All the people saying why do this to a defender, I think a defender needs it more than any normal car. Bare in mind this is paint protection aswell as looking good. he can get it caked in shite knowing his paint will be sound!

Exactly Steve, a coat of wax won't stop a branch or a rock.

Edit to say it's obviously the guys money, I don't care what he does with it, it will just be down the drain the first time he goes off roading in it.
