kent cams,head skim,exhaust mods and a few little others do i really have to run it on super ive asked a few people and sum said no and sum said yes?

unles it has an knock sensor or been mapped for higher RON its pretty pointless
With mods though i owuld certainly run it on tesco 99

If it isnt mapped to run on that fuel then it really isnt needed.

with the head skim it can increase c/r slightly, thats probably why youve been told to go for a higher octane to reduce the risk of pre ignition

i think it's mainly in the users head.
unless it's mapped for the good stuff.
you'll be fine on regular.

If enough has been skimmed of it to do that i would be seriously concerned.

Ive been testing this in the megane. I noticed when it was mega cold last month, it ran a hell of a alot smoother on 99. Tick over was lower rpm when cold, quieter etc. As for speed/power, i dont know.

ill try it on both and see haw i get on if i notice a difference on tick over or athing ill stick to hi octane thanks all comments

My late type XE had a switchable plug one side said 95 the other said 97...

Octane plug, my '90 engine's got one as well. Doesn't make much difference when you change it anyway.
