What type of steering wheel is it, airbag or none, you have to remove the airbag first by taking out the screws behind the wheels, look behind it and you will see. If non airbag you just pull the horn pusher thing off and you will see a big nut. Undo the nut but dont take it off all the way, keep it on the threaded shaft because you are probably going to have to wack the shaft a few times with a hammer while pulling the steering wheel, this will shock the tight fit between the wheel and shaft and free it, trouble is if you take the nut off all together and hit the shaft a few times your going to ruine the starting threads and you wont be able to screw the nut back on, if you keep the nut on all you have to do if unscrew it when the steering wheel is free and it will restore the threads again

When I took off my non airbag steering wheel I just sprayed fuck loads of wd40 on the thread ones the nut was off then left it over night. It came off easily after shaking it off

This isn't the best job in the world lol, that nut will also stop it hitting you in the face when it finally decides to come off.

When I did my non airbag one it was properly wedged on. I even bent the wheel trying to yank it off. I gave up and bought a puller for it, they aint cheap though, so it'd be better to borrow one if you decide you really can't get it off via yank-age.

my airbag one was pretty easy to remove. didnt even look like it had been removed prior as the nylock bolt looked original and i had to use a bit of force to get it off. having said that i nearly broke my nose on my pals old corsa when i finally got his steering wheel off lol
this is how i removed my airbag wheel.
disconnected the battery first (my luck would of been the bastard going off in my face)
turned the wheel to get to the screws at the back
loosened them off and pulled the airbag off the wheel
pulled the plug from the back of the air bag
pulled the plugs from the horn buttons
fitted new boss
plugged the fuse into the airbag plug to complete the circuit
connected horn wires to new button
fitted new wheel
hey presto
