It's called a c piller brace. Well known for civics and integra's. I have an x brace fitted to mine.

I can see what it might be doing, just not sure why it's necessary, can't be doing much with tiny mounting points being attached to a factory-spec pillar.

Really struggling to see the necessity for the C pillar brace, although i do love the fact it looks more like a window brace in the pics on page 1
