Quick question, I've got a 1.6 sport corsa b, when the cars idlling the engine temperature hits over 100 degrees, then fan kicks in, takes it to about 97 degrees, but once I start driving it goes down to below 95 degrees, once I'm idling again it goes back up etc etc, is this normal? The engines got 109k on it, and the cambelt and waterpump has just been changed? Should I be worried? Is it normal?

try a new engine coolant temp sensor, rad fan switch and new thermostat, should bring it down a bit, there all pretty cheap things, however 100 is not abnormal as stated above

^I wouldn't even bother with that lot, Its not overheating as such. Just make sure its got anti-freeze/coolant in it and it will be fine.

You would be suprised. I noticed mine Ran at 95 normal with big filter, at normal driving, and fan kicked in very quickly when sat in a little bit of traffic.

With stock air box, it ran at 90 all day long, and 95 in traffic. Didnt hear the fan kick in for months.

Mine didn't make the slightest bit of difference. There'll be so much air circulating around the filter when moving I wouldn't of thought it made a difference.

open air filters are prone to sucking in hot air from the engine more. hence whilst stuck in traffic. an open filter like k and n or piperx will just suck in hot air from the engine thus raising the heat the car is running at. an airbox is enclosed

TBH a cone filter will do fuck all the the COOLANT, so the air is a bit hotter going into the engine? so what. The combustion is over 1000 degrees so I really don't think an airfilter will make any difference
