any suggestions before a start taking the fuel rail off and swopping injectors?

fucked injectors would be my bet.

Looking that way bt does come up with fault code for electrical fault on 1 and 3

Need to get a scope on 1 and 3 injectors and see if they are firing.

Could maybe do it with a multimeter also.

Have you tried swapping 2 and 4 with 1 and 3?

Going to put a new set of injectors in it later when I can get the car inside.

could be a wiring fault, check you haven’t got any chaffing on the injector loom, very odd for two injectors to fail at once

If he's sure they're not getting fuel there's no chance they'll be firing. Good shout on the last bit though

check old injectors first
it may be cut in injector conectors plug
if it ok
replace injectors
