meaning - if the timing belt is too tight. what happens or what could happen? any ideas?

hmmm. my engines makin a dodgy ticking noise. could that be due to too much tension?

chnge the oil c id that stops it old thin oil wonth lube the cams aswell as new oil

done it. no difference. garages r sayin we cant tell ya what it is until we open the engine.

suggestions by garags ahve been

cam belt tension
pulleys/tensioners
water pump

i say jus take it to an engine specialist say a vaux one "not lookers" they are no way speciallists!
if he's an old experianced guy he sud know what it is jus by listen to it

how tight is your auxiliary drive belt? If its too tight it may cause te engine to make a weird noise as its under too much pressure.

true u cud have buggered the alternator and its that thats clicking under the pressure.........................................

its not the alternator checked that by takin the belt off. noise was still there
