I have a 58 plate astra sport, had it for nearly a year, obviously has remote central locking, however noticed a couple of weeks ago that my boot won't open. When I press the button on the boot to open it, it makes no sound so I'm wondering if it's some how disconnected? All other locks on doors etc are fine. What could cause this and is it easy to fix? I'm hoping to sell the car next month and I'm skint

Aren't they on a button as opposed to a mechanical handle. So there is no lock. Just power doesn't go to the switch on the boot handle when car is locked.
I'd check the fuse first. Then go behind the seats and take the cover off the inside of the tailgate and open manually and check everything is in working order

Hi. AON shows fuse no 7 to be the culprit in some cases.

Thank you Tom, there's a button on the actual boot lid, rather than a seperate one inside or on the fob? I tried to get in from the rear seats although struggled to work out how to get it open!

Yeah button on boot handle. There will be a mechanical lever of sone kind on a solenoid when you get in behind tailgate. I'd bet it's a fuse though

Mine went on mine and needed a new boot solenoid. Was around £115 fitted by Vauxhall. Had to go there as it was under warranty.
